Orlando And Boston are arguably two of the best teams in the league. The Phoenix Suns lost against to Orlando Wednesday and face Boston tonight. Tough schedule but it gives us an idea of what kind of team we have. Our Veterans (Grant Hill, Steve Nash) looked tired and were not much of a factor in the loss to the Magic. From brightsideofthesun.com; ”Perhaps tonight the Suns were simply tired. Or perhaps we have seen our first glimpse of one of the Sun’s potential Achilles heals already: age. For the second night in a row the Suns rebounding leader, Grant Hill looked tired. Steve Nash wasn’t much of a factor as well as the Suns bigs found themselves in foul trouble early on and fell behind an angry Magic squad that dropped a game in Detroit they should have won the night before.” I don’t think this comes as much of a surprise. The interesting thing will be how the rest of the team deals with it. The bench has played well and is improving, as the bench becomes better it will take the pressure off of Hill and Nash so they don’t have to put in heavy minutes. Hopefully that will ensure they still got their “legs” during the final stretch of the season when we will probably be fighting for playoff position. I think the only bright spot everyone can agree on was the play of Amare Stoudemire. It seems he is getting better with each game. From valleyofthesuns.com; ”Amare Stoudemire looked more aggressive and explosive than he has all season. He finished the game with 25 points and 14 rebounds on 10-for-21 shooting. He was dominated down low on defense, but if he can combine his defense from the first four games with his offense from tonight, he may finally become that complete player the Suns need him to be.” The game against the Celtics is going to be another test for the Suns. Personally I really am not that concerned with a win or a loss. Don’t get me wrong, I wish we could have gone undefeated this season. The important thing about these early games against elite teams is our quality of play. It will give us a better idea of how the season will play out in the long run.
