Another Blown Lead, Suns Lose To The Heat.

Posted by buddha On January - 9 - 2010

Suns lose 109-105. I think I see a patter here. Build big early lead in first half. Watch said lead disappear in the second half, try to pull it together, lose game. It’s sad, because you know no matter how good things are going at the beginning of the game, you know its 50/50 whether it will end in disaster. Its like going out drinking and building a great buzz, wind up at the drive-thru at Filiburtos, wake up with nasty hangover/upset stomach. I don’t know what the exact answer is, tonight the bench didn’t exactly light it up. Except for one 3 pointer from Leandro Barbosa, we didn’t get any three point production from our bench and that hurts. The team shot 9-25 (36%) from three point range. What’s our problem? From valleyofthesuns.com; “They both started off with some struggles from the reserves, but this time around the Suns still led by eight when Nash returned. Then the starters were “funky and out of rhythm,” as Nash put it, for the rest of the quarter. “We get these leads and we come out and play great but then we give it all back in the second quarter,” Gentry said. “In some sort of way we have to resolve that situation so that we aren’t playing from behind at the half. I’m really disappointed in some of the things we did effort-wise.” I think opposing teams have figured out what makes the Suns offense click, mainly three-point shooting and allowing Steve Nash to penetrate, and have been trying to neutralize it. When that happens the rest of the team needs to figure out how to step it up.
