I was lucky enough to attend the Suns game against the Magic on Friday. The Suns won 106-103 capped of by an amazing dunk by Amare Stoudemire. They remain perfect at home. I had scored some free tickets, they were nose bleeds but who cares! It’s the Suns! A good friend of mine had even better tickets in a lower section, he text’d that he had some extra seats so me and my buddy got to see the second half only 20 rows up. Nice. I remember there was this Magic fan sitting in front of us, annoying the hell out of everyone around us. He was upset at the lack of calls going for the Magic. “I guess you can’t touch Nash tonight”. I thought the game was officiated well, but I’m a Suns fan, I could care less as long as we win. That’s the NBA, if your team is getting the calls feel fortunate. You never know which way the whistle is going to blow the next time your team takes the court.

On Saturday the Phoenix Suns traveled to Denver to take on the Nugs. The Suns at one point had a 17 point lead, but slowly let the Nugs back into it. The Nuggets won 105-99. The Officiating has been talked about a lot. In the last seconds Steve Nash drove to the basket with Nene draped all over him, no call, Nash missed the lay-up. At times it really seems like Nash doesn’t get the calls a two-time MVP deserves. But what ever. From valleyofthesun.com; “Just off the top of my head, I remember Amare and Lou BOTH getting mugged without a call on a scoring attempt at the hoop at the end of the third quarter, Dudley being called for a block (for his fifth foul) when Carmelo seemed to charge into him near the end of the third, Amare being called for a pair of questionable charges that looked like flops within a span of a minute that locked him up with five fouls with about seven minutes left and Grant Hill being called for a block on Chauncey Billups way beyond the arc on what was at best a 50-50 call.” I believe we should not have been in a situation where questionable calls become a factor. These back to back games are killing us. I don’t know what the answer is? Our schedule has been crazy. I was under the impression that we were a very well conditioned team. I expect us to make the playoffs, and if we have any hope of advancing we need to figure this back to back thing out.
